บทคัดย่อ
ดนตรีบำบัดเป็นศาสตร์การบำบัดรักษาทางเลือกที่มีประโยชน์ต่อผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้ายอย่างเป็นองค์รวม จากการทบทวนเอกสารวิชาการพบว่า ผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับบริการดนตรีบำบัดมีคุณภาพชีวิตดีกว่ากลุ่มที่ไม่ได้รับบริการดนตรีบำบัดอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ สำหรับด้านระยะเวลาของการมีชีวิตที่อยู่ในการดูแล (Length of Life in Care) ไม่พบความแตกต่างทางสถิติ ดนตรีบำบัดยังมีประโยชน์ทางด้านจิตวิญญาณ (Spirituality) อีกด้วย นอกจากนี้ ยังลดความกังวล และเพิ่มระดับความพึงพอใจในการรับบริการให้กับญาติและผู้ดูแล บทความนี้ได้รวบรวมแนวทางการนำดนตรีบำบัดไปประยุกต์ใช้ร่วมกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้าย เนื้อหาประกอบด้วย (1) ความหมายของดนตรีบำบัด (2) ขั้นตอนการให้บริการดนตรีบำบัด (3) ดนตรีบำบัดสำหรับผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้าย (4) ระดับการให้บริการดนตรีบำบัดในผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้าย (5) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวัดผลการทำดนตรีบำบัด และ (6) ประสิทธิผลของดนตรีบำบัดกับการดูแลผู้ป่วย
