Developing Online Lessons on Nursing Care for Pregnant Women

This research and development study aimed to: (1) develop online lessons on nursing care during pregnancy for the Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery 1 course, (2) evaluate the efficacy of these lessons, and (3) assess nursing students’ satisfaction with the lessons. The study followed the five phases of the ADDIE Model for instructional design. A purposive sample of 79 nursing students enrolled in the course in 2022 was selected. Data were collected using tests and questionnaires and were analyzed using means and standard deviations.
The findings were as follows: (1) the online lessons consisted of five multimedia episodes designed according to the course specifications; (2) the efficiency scores (E1/E2) of the lessons were 70.74/71.05; and (3) students’ satisfaction with the online lessons was rated at a high level. It was recommended that using the ADDIE Model for developing online lessons ensured a systematic process that aligned objectives, content, and assessments, ultimately enhancing learning outcomes.
