Instructional Development in the COVID-19 Situation of Nursing Care of Persons with Mental Health Problems Subject in Bachelor of Nursing Science Program of Boromarajonani Nursing College Changwat Nonthaburi

The objective was to study satisfaction with instructional outcomes and development proposals in the situation of COVID-19 of nursing care of persons with mental health problems subject. This qualitative research used focus group discussion to collect data from instructors and students. Data were analyzed by content analysis.
The findings showed that teachers and students were satisfied and dissatisfied with the instructional outcomes and proposed 33 guidelines for instructional development which devided into 6 aspects, namely, instructors, students, subject content, instructional process, media and learning resources, and measurement and evaluation of learning outcomes. Examples of guidelines for instructor development, such as consulting for problem solving, academic support, instructional technology training. Examples of guidelines for student development, such as learning technology training, media equipment lending, communicating to parents the necessity of instruction. Examples of guidelines for subject content development, such as, instructional plan adjustment, student readiness study, subject content adjustment. Examples of guidelines for instructional process development, such as instructional model adjustment, knowledge sharing meeting activities adjustment, study tour activities adjustment. Examples of guidelines for media and learning resources development, such as interesting learning materials selection, instructional platform selection, instructional material resource development. Examples of guidelines for measurement and evaluation of learning outcomes, such as measurement and evaluation strategy revision, examination method revision, examination tool seletion.
It was suggested that Boromarajonani College of Nursing Changwat Nonthaburi and other Boromarajonani College of Nursing should implement guidelines for instruction development in the COVID-19 situation to improve teaching and learning of nursing practicum subjects in critical situations where on-site instruction is not possible.
