Factors Related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) of Elderly with Diabetes Mellitus in Sakon Nakhon Province

This Correlational Research Design aimed to study preventive behaviors of Coronavirus Disease 2019 ( COVID-19) and factors related to the prevention behavior of COVID-19. The samples were 347 elderly with diabetes who received services at Tambon Health Promoting Hospital in Sakon Nakhon Province during December 2021 to February 2022. Data were collected by questionnaire with reliability 0.85. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics : frequency, percentage mean, standard deviation, median, interquartile, minimum and and maximum; inferential statistics : Chi-square test and Spearman's correlation coefficient. The results showed that.
1.Preventive behaviors for prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 in elderly with diabetes found that most of them were at low level
2.Factors of education level, occupation, service accessing, receiving advice from staffs, and COVID-19 vaccination related to COVID-19 prevention behaviors with statistical significance at .05 level. In addition, factors related to COVID-19 prevention behaviors were perception, knowledge, and attitude with statistical significance at p<.01 (rs = 0.169, rs = -0.203, and rs = 0.217 respectively).
The results of the study should be applied as a guideline to develop a more appropriate action plan for the prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the elderly with diabetes. especially activities that promote awareness, attitudes, and develop activity for COVID-19 prevention among the elderly, chronic patients, and people later.
