Abstract

The purpose of this systematic review was to explore existing fall prevention programs for older adults in Thailand. Studies published between 2011 – 2021 were searched from Google scholar, Thaijo, Science Direct PubMed, Embase (Excerpta Medica Database), Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature), as well as four major Chinese databases; CMBdisc (China Biology Medicine disc), CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), China Academic Journal Full - Text Databases (CJFD), and Academic Focus. Quality assessments of studies were independently reviewed by 3 researchers following the levels of evidence of Jadad et al. for evaluation.

The result showed that there were 10 eligible studies. These were quasi-experimental designs with the comparison of control and experimental groups, and the samples were older adults in Thailand. The characteristics of programs were mixed with various activities, such as health education, exercise, and home visits to make the environment safer. The effects of the programs were successful to increase fall prevention behaviors among older people in Thailand.
