The effect of readiness preparation in the Communicating, Teaching and Counseling in Health on Anxiety and communication abilities skills

The readiness preparation encouraged students to be alert to learning new experiences, able to connect theoretical knowledge to experiments, to be ready, and confident, resulting in reduced anxiety. In the academic year 2020, the resulting of teaching and learning found that students were unable to apply their knowledge and link it into practice in the real situations because their ineffective coping strategies led to anxiety that hindered learning and learning outcomes could not meet the goals. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of readiness preparation in the communicating, teaching, and counseling in health on anxiety and communication abilities skills.
The research design was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest with control. Samples were 70 of 2nd year nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Saraburi. The research instrument consisted of the readiness preparation in the communicating program, personal data, State Anxiety Inventory, Communication skill Test Questionnaire, and Stress Test Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and independent t-test.
Results: The result showed that 1) The comparative of anxiety level after intervention between the control group and experimental group found that the experimental group had significantly higher level than the control group at level .05 (t=10.632) 2) The comparative of communication abilities skills show that the experimental group had significantly higher than the control group at level .05 (t= -3.281) 3) The average of anxiety and communication abilities skills was no significant (t= -2.035)
Conclusions: The result of this study suggest that the readiness preparation could be used for decreasing anxiety and increasing communication abilities skills.
