Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research aimed to study the nursing competencies, attitudes, readiness in ASEAN community and relationship between nursing competencies, attitudes, readiness in ASEAN community among senior nursing students. The population composed of 117 senior nursing students at college of nursing and health, Suansunandha Rajabhat University that were selected by random sampling.  The sample composed of 100 nursing students. The research instruments used in this study were the nursing competencies, attitudes, and readiness in ASEAN community questionnaire which were developed by researcher. They were validated by 3 experts, the result of Index of item objective congruence (IOC) were 0.82, 0.87, and 0.97 respectively.  It reliabilities by Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient were 0.95, 0.76, and 0.94 respectively. Data were analyzed by means, standard deviation and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.

          The result showed that the nursing competencies in ASEAN community was at a high level ( = 3.88, SD = 0.43), attitude in ASEAN community was at a good level ( = 3.97, SD = 0.43) and readiness in ASEAN community was at a high level ( = 3.71, SD = 0.46). Correlations results were: positively significant related between nursing competencies and readiness in ASEAN community (r=.544, p<.05), and attitude was positively significant related with readiness in ASEAN community (r=.294, p<.05)
