Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research aimed to compare the problem-based learning outcome of caring of pregnancy health related problem of the subject of the maternal and newborn nursing and midwifery II among the 4th year nursing students.  The were 30  fourth year nursing students studying the maternal and newborn nursing and midwifery II of 2016 academic year from Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Chai Nat. They were selected by the even number random sampling.  Data were collected by researcher from lesson plan, the examination, and questionnaire which were validated  by three experts. The questionnaire reliabilities were 0.68, 0.72 and 0.82 respectively. The data were analyzed by mean and dependent t-test.

The findings were as followed.

1) Student’s problem-based learning outcome of caring was statistically significant higher (in nursing process caring among maternal and fetus with pregnancy health problem related) than those before being taught (p < .05).  

2) Student’s problem solving abilities by using Problem-based leaning was at the excellent level (= 3.52).

 3) Student’s satisfaction on Problem-based leaning was at the excellent level (=3.51).

The results can be used to guide the effectively developing of problem- based learning
