An Educational Needs Assessment for a Bachelor of Nursing Science Program in Nursing Graduates from Boromarajonani College of Nursing Nakhon Phanom, Nakhonphanom University

This survey aimed to assess and prioritize educational needs for a Bachelor of Nursing Science program in nursing graduates from Boromarajonani College of Nursing Nakhon Phanom. The sample consisted of 156 nursing graduates in academic year 2024 from Boromarajonani College of Nursing Naknon Phanom. The research instrument was the Educational Need Assessment questionnaire with an Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) index ranging from 0.67 to 1.00, and alpha coefficients of 0.95 and 0.98 for the degree of success and importance scales, respectively. Descriptive statistics and PNIModified formula were used to analyze data.
The findings revealed that the three most urgent needs were: 1) facilities (PNImodified = 0.37), 2) educational support (PNImodified = 0.25), and 3) curriculum and course contents (PNImodified = 0.24). When considering individual items, the most urgent needs was adequate shops/cafeterias, followed by sufficient workspace beyond instructional hours, and appropriate classroom for teaching and learning, respectively. The findings indicate the need for systematic educational management development, prioritizing infrastructure improvements, curriculum enhancement through diverse elective course, transparent and equitable assessment systems, and student development in English language proficiency and entrepreneurial skills.
