บทคัดย่อ
พยาบาลเป็นหนึ่งในคนสำคัญของกระบวนการเยียวยา เพราะพยาบาลมีพหุศักยภาพในการเยียวยารวมถึงการดูแล ป้องกัน ฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพ ให้คำปรึกษา และส่งเสริมสุขภาพ โดยเฉพาะความเอื้ออาทรต่อผู้ป่วยด้วยธรรมะ อริยสัจ 4 และพรหมวิหาร 4 จึงเสมือนเป็นการให้การพยาบาลแบบองค์รวมด้วยหัวใจความเป็นมนุษย์อย่างแท้จริง
ในเชิงวิถีพุทธ ความตาย คือ ส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตและเป็นหน้าที่ของสังขารอย่างไม่มีทางเปลี่ยนแปลงแก้ไขได้นอกจากการเตรียมความพร้อมและตั้งรับให้ถูกวิธี การพยาบาลวิถีพุทธ ประกอบด้วย การบำบัดทางการพยาบาลหลัก การบำบัดทางการพยาบาลเสริม และการบำบัดทางการพยาบาลเสริมศักยภาพ เพื่อส่งเสริมความผาสุกทางจิตวิญญาณสู่การตายดีในระยะท้ายของชีวิต พยาบาลวิถีพุทธต้องมีความรู้ความเข้าใจอย่างลึกซึ้งในเรื่องความตายวิถีพุทธศาสน์ที่จะพบได้ โดยเฉพาะเตรียมตัวก่อนสิ้นลมหายใจและจากไปอย่างสมศักดิ์ศรีของความเป็นมนุษย์สู่สุคติภูมิอย่างอิ่มบุญ
