The Royal Thai Navy Medical Journal is an academic journal of medicine, nursing, health sciences and maritime medicine of the Naval Medical Department, Royal Thai Navy. It has set the publication ethics in the journal as follows

Duties of Editors

          1.The editors are responsible for reviewing and screening all manuscripts submitted for consideration for publication in the journal, considering the content of the article to be consistent with the objectives and scope of the journal. In the event that the content of the article is not consistent with the objectives and scope of the journal, the editor must promptly inform the corresponding author so that the article can be submitted for consideration for publication in other journals

          2.The editors must not publish articles that have been published elsewhere, either in journal form or full-length articles presented at academic conferences (Proceedings). Plagiarism checks must be performed and reliable checking programs must be used (the journal uses the CopyCatch program in the ThaiJo system and has set the redundancy limit to no more than 25%, or other programs may be considered, such as Akarawisut, Turnitin, or other comparable programs, no more than 25%). If it is found or there is clear evidence or confirmation that there has been plagiarism exceeding the specified limit, the editor will contact the corresponding author for clarification, which will be used in accepting or rejecting the publication of the article.

          3.The editors must supervise, monitor, and oversee the journal's article quality assessment process to ensure that it strictly complies with academic standards. At least two reviewers from various institutions assess the quality of articles. The editor selects the reviewers based on their specific expertise in that subject. In the case of research articles, at least one expert in statistics and research methodology and at least one expert in the content area will be selected. In academic articles, at least two content experts will be selected.

          4.The editors must supervise, follow up, and ensure that the quality of articles is evaluated by reviewers within a specified time, follow up on the revisions of the authors, and check the revisions of the authors in cases where reviewers request the editor to review them.

          5.The editors must maintain confidentiality and not disclose information related to the article to unrelated persons, whether it is the information of the author or the article reviewer, by concealing the name of reviewers who evaluates the article quality and the name of the author (Double-blind peer review).

          6.The editors will make the decision to select and consider the publication of the articles that have passed the evaluation process based on the evaluation results of reviewers, importance, timeliness, clarity, and consistency of the content with the journal's policies.

          7.If the editors are uncertain about the content and basic quality of any article, the editor must not reject the article immediately with prejudice. The editor may always seek additional opinions from the editorial team with expertise in the content of the article first.

          8.The editors must provide guidelines for reviewers and guidelines for authors and keep them up to date.

          9.The editors must not have any conflict of interest with the authors and the reviewers of the articles, and must not use any or all of the information in the articles as their own academic work or for commercial purposes.

          10.The editors must supervise, and monitor, both himself and the editorial team regarding the quantity and quality of citations in the journal that deviate from the actual situation, such as supervising and requesting citations of articles in the journal both secretly and openly, and using citations that are incorrect and inconsistent with the content.

          11.The editors must supervise, monitor, and oversee the publication of articles with conflicts of interest, such as publishing their own articles (the editor-in-chief and the editorial team) in significant amounts, or without reviewing the quality of the articles before publication by reviewers who have no conflict of interest with the articles, etc.

          12.The editors must supervise, monitor, and oversee the journal's operations to ensure they are in compliance with ethical/professional ethics as announced by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center on "Ethical/Professional Ethics Assessment of Thai Academic Journals in the TCI Database" on June 24, 2019, and must take appropriate action against authors or articles found to have committed ethical/professional misconduct.

          13.The editors must control and supervise the publication of articles on the journal's website to be accurate, complete, and published on time as well as develop the journal to maintain quality and up-to-dateness at all times.

          14.In the event of any problems that exceed the editor's authority, the editors must bring the matter to the editorial board for a joint decision based on consensus.

Duties of Authors

          1.The authors must not submit articles that have been previously published in any journal and are not under consideration for publication in the journal. If the editorial board finds that the author has submitted duplicate articles or articles are under consideration for publication in other journals, the articles will be removed from the Royal Thai Navy Medical Journal and the publication acceptance will be canceled. The editorial team  will also report such actions to your parent organization.

          2.The authors must take into account research ethics and not violate or copy the work of others as their own.

          3.The authors must not report information that is inaccurate, whether by creating false information, falsifying, distorting, or embellishing or selecting only information that is consistent with the conclusion.

          4.The manuscript must be prepared according to the format specified by the journal in the “Guidelines for Preparing Manuscripts”.

          5.The authors must check the accuracy of the reference list and should not cite academic papers that they have not read. They should cite only necessary documents and should not cite too many documents. They must also cite according to the format specified by the journal.

          6.The authors agree to revise the article according to the suggestions of the reviewers and editors within the specified time frame.

          7.The authors must provide an ethics certification document and state in the article that the research involves human subjects, in accordance with the conditions of the National Research Council of Thailand.

          8.Co-authors must acknowledge and consent to submit the article to the journal, and all co-authors whose names appear in the article must have been involved in the actual development of the article.

          9.The author's work has been checked for plagiarism using the Akarawisut system or other comparable programs, with document attached (if any).

          10.The authors acknowledge that published articles are copyrighted by the Royal Thai Navy Medical Journal and cannot be reprinted in other journals.

          11.The authors must state any conflicts of interest (if any).

Duties of Reviewers

          1.The reviewers must take into account the quality of the article as the main factor, considering the article under academic principles and reasons without bias or personal opinions and without any conflict of interest with the author.

          2.When the reviewers have been contacted to consider evaluating the quality of an article, the journal editors must be informed of their acceptance. In cases where the reviewers do not have expertise in the content of the article or has conflicting interests with the authors, such as being a project participant or knowing the authors personally, or other reasons that prevent them from giving independent opinions or suggestions, the reviewers should be asked to decline to evaluate the article.

          3.The reviewers must provide clear and tangible academic opinions or suggestions, including appropriate and reliable references to the author. It is not just an evaluation of the details of the language or format, and personal opinions without supporting data and should not be used as a criterion for evaluating/ judging the article.

          4.In the event that the reviewers consider that the article being evaluated is similar or duplicates other articles, there is falsification or decoration of data, the submission of manuscripts from multiple places, or there are false references, the reviewer must immediately inform the editor.

          5.The reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not disclose information related to the article to other unrelated persons during the article evaluation period.

          6.The reviewers shall not seek benefits from the articles they have evaluated.

          7.The reviewers should evaluate the quality of the article within the specified time frame.
