The Effects of Pre-operative Preparing Surgery Program on Anxiety and Practices of one day Surgery : ODS in Kasetwisai Hospital

Purposes : To compare mean scores of anxiety and behavior patients before on anxiety and practices of one day surgery : ODS.
Study design : Quasi-experimental research; two-group pretest-posttest design
Materials and Methods : A total of 60 subjects were patients undergoing same-day surgery, divided into an experimental group and a control group, 30 of subjects per group. We were conducted from March-July 2023. Data were collected using a questionnaire. And data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Independent t-test, and statistical significance was set at 95% Confidence interval.
Main findings : After the experiment, it was found that patients who had one day surgery in the experimental group had an average overall anxiety score, less than the control group (p<.001), with an mean score anxiety less than 1.07(95%CI:0.92, 1.21) and an overall mean scores performance for patients undergoing one day surgery than the control group (p<.001), with an mean score of 2.22 higher (95%CI: 1.90, 2.53).
Conclusion and recommendations : The results of this research indicated that patients' anxiety decreased and their postoperative behavior improved. Therefore, relevant agencies should be encouraged to use this health innovation.
