Leadership Development Model for District Health Board Phon Sai District, Roi-Et

Abstract

Purposes: To develop and to assess the effectiveness leadership development model for District Health  Board  Phon Sai District, Roi-Et.

Design: Action  research design.

Materials and Methods: This study included participants with District Health Board (N = 21 participants), Director of  Health Promoting Hospital (N=5 participants), and  District Health Coordinating Committee (N=9 participants), developed between October 2018 to September 2019. The instruments used in development were leadership District Health Board of model. Data were collected by using tests, needs assessment survey and the assessment form for development of district health system. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Wilcoxon signed rank test .

Main  findings: The process of leadership development  model  for District Health  Board  Phon Sai District  were  divided into 10 steps; 1) Needs assessment 2) Co-ordination 3) Research team preparation 4) Workshop arrangement 5) Preparation development plan 6) Implementation 7) Follow-up meetings 8) Observations 9) Supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and 10) Conclusion and exchange of learning. District Health Board Phon Sai District were  an increased knowledge and understanding about leadership (p = 0.001) and  developed of district health systems (p = 0.042).

Conclusion and  recommendations: This study have success factors which are the leadership team who understand the context and problems of area, set a goals and  change together with continuous integration of health partners in area.
