Abstract

Purpose: To develop and study program for health promotion of elderly with participatory in community.

Design:   Participatory Action Research.

Material s and Methods: 130 of participants on elderly in the area of responsibility of Nong Khun Yai Sub district administration organization, Nong Phok District, Roi Et. Participatory action research process were consisted of steps situation, analysis, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, group conversation participatory observation and quality of  life test. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

Main  findings:  Most of the elderly have illnesses due to physical deterioration, such as musculoskeletal diseases, Joint and bone diseases the cause were due to hard work for a long time and chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure the elderly have problems in their daily activities, feel lonely, feel that they were neglected, household expenses burden safety in life and elderly had better quality of life in all 6 aspects, representing 64.60%.

Conclusion and recommendations: The results of this study indicate that the program Resulting in elderly having a better quality of life therefore, relevant agencies should continue to use this program to enhance health of elderly.
