Abstract

This research was a quasi-experimental study with two-group pretest posttest-design. The objective of this study was to study the efficiency of the program slowing progression of chronic kidney on perceptual behavior of patients with stage three chronic kidney disease at the Nephrology Clinic in a surat thani hospital. The sample group consisted of 60 patients with stage 3 chronic kidney disease that were divided into experimental group and control group with 30 responentp each, by using a purposive sampling. The tools used in this research were: 1) The program slowing progression of chronic disease, and 2) The tools used for collecting data that are Measurement of knowledge about continuous kidney disease and from the third stage of chronic kidney disease. The content validity was verified by five experts and the content validity index was 0.92. The reliability was determined by Cronbach's alpha coefficient that was 0.96. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic, namely frequency, percentage, and standard deviation and inferential statistic, namely independent t-test and dependent t-test.

The results showed that 1) The mean perceptual behavior of patients of the experimental group after using the program slowing progression ( = 3.08, SD = .032) was significantly higher than before using the the program slowing progression ( = 3.01, SD = .145). The results show that the program slowing progression has an effect on the Perceptual Behavior of Patients therefore nursing administrators can apply this program to develop other services in order to continue the maximize benefits in the future.
