Quality of life of patient in Congenital heart disease with Pulmonary arterial hypertension at Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast

The study, "Quality of life of patient in Congenital heart disease with Pulmonary arterial hypertension at Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast," utilized a cross-sectional descriptive design. It was conducted to assess the quality of life of patients with congenital heart disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension receiving treatment at the center, with the aim of applying the findings to design a healthcare service system that promotes post-treatment well-being. The study was conducted on a sample of 59 patients, selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected using a personal information questionnaire and a disease-specific quality of life questionnaire, the Emphasis 10 score (EmPHasis-10), which demonstrated a high reliability with an Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) of 0.99. All data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
The study results showed that most patients had a good quality of life, with an overall quality of life score of X=14.07, SD 9.74. Patients with a good quality of life (scores between 0-16) accounted for 57.63% (X=7.55, SD 5.01). Patients with a moderate quality of life (scores between 17-33) accounted for 40.68% (X=22.91, SD 4.17), and patients with a low quality of life (scores between 34-50) accounted for 1.69% (X=40, SD 0.00). Therefore, it is recommended to promote improved quality of life for patients with moderate quality of life.
