This study used a one-group pretest–posttest design in a quasi-experimental research design. The study's goals were to find out how common lower back discomfort is, how a pain-relieving cushion affects it, and how satisfied nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing in Khon Kaen were with the new pain-relieving pillow.Purposive sampling was used to choose 30 nursing students for the sample. Between September and October of 2025, data was gathered. The research instruments included: A pain-relieving pillow that was created as a user-friendly and safe substitute for various gadgets with drawbacks and possible hazards related to massage in order to treat students with lower back discomfort;a survey measuring user satisfaction with the pain-relieving pillow invention; and An evaluation form for lower back discomfort. A paired t-test and descriptive statistics were used to assess the data.
After implementing the innovation, the mean lower back pain score dropped from 3.00 to 1.40, according to the data. There was a statistically significant decrease in the pain score (p < 0.05) There was the highest level of overall satisfaction with the invention. The invention was regarded as being very easy to store (mean = 4.57, SD = 0.62), very convenient to travel (mean = 4.60, SD = 0.56), and robust and long-lasting for constant usage (mean = 4.53, SD = 0.50). In summary, the invention of the pain-relief cushion proved successful in lowering lower back pain and is a suitable substitute for nursing students seeking pain relief. To further improve the efficacy of the results, future research should think about extending the duration and frequency of use.
