Abstract

This mixed-methods research and development aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a workshop training model in family planning technology and women's health care to promote self-efficacy among public health personnel in Health Region 7. The sample consisted of 92 public health personnel in Health Region 7, including nurses, physicians, and public health academics. Research instruments included a 30-item multiple-choice pre/post-knowledge test (IOC=0.95, p=0.28-0.79, r=0.22-0.81), self-efficacy assessments, satisfaction surveys, and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired t-tests, and qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.

The results showed that the innovative model was highly effective in enhancing personnel capacity. Post-training knowledge scores increased significantly (mean difference +2.76 points, p < 0.001), and self-efficacy scores increased across all dimensions (overall score increased by +1.24 points, p < 0.001). Furthermore, 83.3% of personnel provided at least one adolescent counseling session after the training, and 73.3% utilized digital media in their work. 90% of participating service units accepted and applied the model. Personnel satisfaction was at a "very high" level (M = 4.58 ± 0.49). In conclusion, the developed workshop training model effectively meets the needs of public health personnel.
