Evaluation of the Measles Vaccination Campaign in Children Aged 1-12 Years in Health Region 7, 2020-2021

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the performance of the measles vaccination campaign in children aged 1-12 years during 2020-2021 of the Health Region 7 in accordance with Thailand’s acceleration plan for measles elimination to build children’s immunity using CIPP Model which divides into 4 aspects: context, input, process and product. The primary data was collected using questionnaires. The samples, which were chosen by a multi-stage randomization method, consisted of 53 operational officers working in the service unit in hospitals and sub-district health promotion hospitals and were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the officers responding to the questionnaire had the highest overall satisfaction with context evaluation ( =3.29, S.D. 0.55), which was appropriate for the project implementation and consistent with the local vaccine implementation policy. Moreover, they saw the need to solve problems in the area. This was followed by the overall satisfaction towards product evaluation ( =3.11, S.D. 0.60), process evaluation ( =2.97, S.D. 0.58) and input evaluation ( =2.94, S.D. 0.60), which were not significantly different since the personnel have been properly trained and their potential has been developed. Also, there is a sufficient number of personnel for the operation. This may affect the workload of limited personnel. The success factor was found to arise from the participation of personnel. However, it is advised that administrators and relevant departments provide more support such as organizing training courses to increase skills, knowledge, and building understanding to develop the officers’ potential as well as planning and monitoring operations systematically.
