Develop the Online Curriculum to Enhance Knowledge of Child Caregiver for the National Health Standards’ Assessment of Early Childhood Care Center and Development (4D) in Health Area 7

Abstract

 This research and development were as follows: 1) to develop an online curriculum to enhance knowledge to assessment the early childhood care center and development according to the National Health Standard (4D); 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of the online curriculum to enhance knowledge to assessment the early childhood care center and development according to the National Health Standard. The processes to development this online curriculum consisted of four stages, as follows: Stage 1) to study and analyze data to develop an online curriculum to enhance knowledge and assessment skills; Stage 2) to explain the learning process of the online curriculum; Stage 3) to live contents of the online curriculum based on video streaming; Stage 4) to evaluate the effectiveness of online curriculum. The participants were 1,540 teachers and child caregivers in four provinces, as follows: Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham and Roiet chosen based on volunteer sampling. Data collection to evaluate the effectiveness of the online curriculum were online questionnaires that CVI 0.97 and reliability 0.77 to evaluate knowledge, satisfaction and self-assessment of the early childhood care and development centers. Data analysis used frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation. The result showed that 67.5% of the trainees had passing for knowledge score at a moderate level or above. The mean score of the satisfaction with the online curriculum were at the high level (x ̅ = 4.50, S.D. = 0.58). The child caregiver who passed in the online curriculum could self-assessments 829 (53.8%) of the early childhood care and development centers according to the National Health Standard. This study finding suggests that using the online curriculum could improve knowledge and assessment skills of child caregivers to self-assessment the early childhood care and development centers according to the National Health Standards. Therefore, it was an optional model to enhance knowledge and further assess to the other service standards.
