Abstract

Falls among older adults are a major public health concern worldwide, particularly in Thailand, which is rapidly transitioning into a complete aged society. The risk of falling increases with age and is influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, affecting not only physical health but also quality of life, disability, dependence, and the economic burden on individuals and the healthcare system. In the digital era, technology plays a vital role in supporting care for older people, especially through the use of digital health data, risk screening via smart devices, and promoting older people engagement through interactive applications. This article analyzes the current situation, trends, risk factors, and impacts of falls in older adults, and proposes a proactive nursing approach guided by the P4s model Personalization, Prediction, Prevention, and Participation to enhance individualized, efficient, and data-driven elderly care in the context of digital health transformation.
