Abstract

The purpose of this evaluation research was to evaluation the Pre-anesthetic Evaluation Nursing Clinic system, Sappasitthiprasong Hospital in evaluating and preparing the patients of one-day surgery and minimally invasive surgery. This study was a mixed method research using the CIPP model framework of Stufflebeam. The samples were 5 executives, 40 nurse anesthetists and 74 surgical patients. The tools were: 1) in-depth interviews using semi-structured questions for the executives, 2) Online Google Form questionnaire using the CIPP model framework for nurse anesthetists, evaluating 4 aspects including context, input, process, and product. 3) The State Trait Anxiety Inventory Form X-1 and the satisfaction questionnaire for the patients. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. Inferential statistics were used to compare pre- and post-service anxiety: Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Fisher's exact test and content analysis for qualitative data.

The results of the study showed that the project achieved the goals set for all three indicators.     1) Assessment using the CIPP Model found that it was very suitable in all 4 aspects: context, input, process and product. 2) The patients had a statistically significant reduction in anxiety (p<0.001).  3) The patients were most satisfied. Organizations of nurses and anesthesiologists accepted as model study visits. Issues that need to be improved include: the structure of the clinic, budget, location and Nurse anesthetists should be more involved in the development of service practice guidelines. In conclusion, based on the CIPP model framework, all four of the aspects of the Pre-anesthetic Evaluation Nursing Clinic were suitable and appropriate for continued implementation.
