Abstract

This participatory action research aimed to develop process for care patients with acute myocardial infarction in the network of Phra Phutthabat Hospital, Saraburi Province, Thailand during March - December 2021. The study consisted of 3 phases, situational analysis, implementation phase, and evaluation phase. Research instruments were focus group/in-depth interview guideline desired to be the smart nurse, focus group asked changing health services guideline, filed-note recorded research participation behaviors, and treatment time records.  The participants consisted of one emergency medicine doctor, 26 emergency nurses, and three emergency nurses from the Referral Center. Data analyzed by using content analysis. The findings of the situation analysis phase indicated that research participants required developing the accurately emergency care, particularly a mental health to control their emotions by improving their quality communication. For the implementation phase, methods for development were including 1) promotion of knowledge and constructing a commitment and, sharing and learning for improving the results of their practice. The evaluation phase indicated results 1) development process with the congruence of the transformation learning concept; 2) nurses improving their practices that included transferring their knowledge together, using information technology and innovation that supported the access to care, communication and relationship, teamwork, and lifelong learning; 3) improving the outcome, standard time for care patients deployed from Ministry Public Health. This study suggested that during COVID-19 pandemic era the developing the emergency nurses via online can develop the proficiency of the emergency nurses, and improve quality care.
