Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the level of knowledge, to assess the quality of media, videos and brochures and to compare the knowledge before and after of patients who received continuous urinary bladder irrigation (CBI) and Transurethral Resection of Prostate Gland(TUR-P), Urology Surgery Department, Udonthani Hospital, during May 2017 to January 2018. The research samples were patients who post operation TUR-P and CBI were divided equality into 2 groups, experimental and control groups, the sampling was used to a sampling of 50. There were 25 subjects in the controlled group and 25 subjects in the experimental group. Patients were taught by using multimedia in experimental groups and by conventional method pre-operation in the control groups. Post teaching performances were compared on the first post-operation day. The satisfaction on quality of multimedia was assessed in the experimental groups. The result of research found that the quality of multimedia, the clarity of illustration, the suitability of the format, the most satisfied (x̄ = 2.93 SD=.26).The post test performance in experimental groups were statistically higher than in control groups (P< 0.01). This study show the good benefit of using multimedia for teaching the patients before receiving operation TUR-P and CBI. Satisfaction on quality of Multimedia was high.
