ผลของโปรแกรมเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจต่อการรับรู้ความสามารถในการส่งเสริมสุขภาพผู้สูงอายุของเครือข่ายสุขภาพชุมชนจังหวัดสระบุรี Effects of Empowerment Program on Perceived Health Promotion Ability for Elderly of Community Health Network in Saraburi Province

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research was to study the effects of empowerment program on perceived health promotion ability for elderly of community health network in Tontal community in Saraburi Province. The purposive sample consisted of 31 members of health network and 52 elderlies of Tontal community. Research instrument were the empowerment program for community health network was developed according to Tracy’s concept. Research instruments comprised of perceived empowerment questionnaire, satisfaction questionnaire, benefits on program participation of community health networks, and health promotion knowledge questionnaire of elderlies. The program activities were conducted during January – April, 2015 for 1-2 activity per month for a total 6 activities. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Results revealed that the sample of community health networks had significantly increased scores of perception on ability of elderly health promotion       (t = 5.30, p <.001). Their satisfaction scores on participating with the empowerment program was at very good level. In addition, the elderly’s score of knowledge on health promotion behaviors was improved in nutrition, exercise, mental and emotion. Suggestion for health personnel is to apply this empowerment program with another community health network  in order to promote health and quality of life of elderly.
