ภาพสะท้อนทางความคิดต่อการเจ็บป่วยในผู้ป่วยหัวใจล้มเหลวที่มีอาการกำเริบ Illness Representation Among Patients with Acute Exacerbation Heart Failure

Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to study illness representation among patient with acute exacerbation heart failure. Forty-five acute exacerbation heart failure patient, readmitted inpatient department, Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast Khonkaen University, Srinakarin hospital. Data were collected between March to June, 2017, using Illness Questionnaire-Revise Perception, IPQ-R back translated into Thai language and revise to consistent heart failure patient with acute exacerbation. The content validity was test by 3 experts and Cronbach’s alpha reliability of  0.89 was also obtained. Descriptive statistics including frequency,  percentage, average and standard deviation were used in the analysis.

The results of the study were as follows ; Identity, the occurrence of acute exacerbation heart failure patients with specific characteristics or symptoms is dyspnea at night (x ̄ = 4.64, S.D. = 0.57). Cause the patient has a behaviors that arise from risks to health is not to control salt (x ̄ = 4.62, S.D.= 0.58). Time-line is illness will last a short time (x ̄= 4.02, S.D.= 0.54) and the symptoms of illness change a great deal from day to day (x ̄= 4.89, S.D. = 0.49). Cure/Controllability based on the ability to control the illness by personal Control is nothing do will affect illness (x ̄ = 3.82, S.D. = 0.58). Treatment Control is treatment can control illness (x ̄ = 3.96, S.D. = 0.31). Consequences of the patients are illness has major consequences on life (x ̄ = 3.96, S.D. = 0.41). Emotional patients are aware that my illness does not worry (x ̄= 3.53, S.D. = 0.44 )  The results suggest that nurses should be aware and understand of the illness representation patient's. An assessment illness representation is intermittent. Throughout the range at the hospital. This could be a starting helps nursing understand the planning patient's self-care. It can be used as a guideline to planning patients to encourage appropriate and improve the quality of nursing.
