ผลของโปรแกรมการเตรียมความพร้อมมารดาต่อการรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเอง พฤติกรรมการดูแลทารกของมารดาและภาวะสุขภาพของทารกเกิดก่อนกำหนด Effects of maternal preparation program on perceived self - efficacy, infant-care behavior of mothers and preterm infant health

Abstract

This quasi experimental research was aimed at determining the effects of the maternal preparation program on  perceived self -efficacy, infant-care behavior of mothers and preterm Infant health status. The subjects were mothers and their preterm infants who were admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Buriram Hospital, Thailand.  Forty couple subjects were selected by systematic sampling. The subjects were divided equally into two groups, the control group and the experimental group. The control group received routine nursing care, whilst the experimental group received the maternal preparation program based on the Self-Efficacy Theory of Bandura. The data was collected over a period of 4 months during November 2016 and February 2017. 

                The instruments in this study compose of. 1)The experimental instrument was the Maternal Preparation Program and The Maternal Caring for Preterm Infants Handbook. 2)The Demographics data collection form, Maternal  perceived self-efficacy in caring preterm infants assessment form.  The maternal behavior in caring preterm infants assessment form and The Preterm infant health status assessment form. Data analysis was done via frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The hypotheses were tested by using paired  t - test and independent t -test.

                The results of this research showed the mean score of the mother's self-efficacy in caring  for preterm infants in both groups was higher statistically by 0.05 . The mean score of the mother's self-efficacy and the mean score of behavior in caring for preterm infants in the experimental group was higher than those in control group statistically by 0.05. The mean score of preterm infant health status in the experimental group was higher than the control group statistically by 0.05.
