Objectives This quasi-experimental study was to investigate an effects of the program applying the Theory of Planned Behavior on aggressive behavior among early adolescents.

Materials and methods Subjects who aged 10-13 years old and had moderate to high level of aggressive behavior were randomly selected into the experimental group (n=17), and the
comparison group (n=17). The experimental group received the 4-week program with activities included self behavior learning, problem analysis, group discussion, role-play and behavior record practice. Data
were collected by self-administered questionnaires at the baseline, the 4th week, (the 6th week for aggressive behavior), and the 8th week after the intervention. Statistical analysis was performed using
Chi-square test and t-test.

Results When comparing between the experimental and the comparison group at the 4th week, (the 6th week for aggressive behavior) and the 8th week, the experimental group reported higher
average score of attitudes towards non-aggressive behavior, intentions towards non-aggressive behavior and less aggressive behavior than the comparison group. No mean difference between groups, however,
in perceived aggressive behavioral control and subjective norms towards non-aggressive behavior.

Conclusion The program applying the Theory of Planned Behavior has positive effects on the improvement of attitudes and intention, resulting in positive change in the score of aggressive behavior
reduction.
