Objective To study the relationship between students’ mean Intelligence Quotient (IQ) with educational service area and school systems factors.

Materials and methods Data used are from the national survey of 2011 Thai students IQ of 72,780 by Department of Mental Health. The data are from grade 1 to grade 9 students in 76 provinces which belong to Offi ce of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Offi ce of the Private Education Commission (OPEC), Offi ce of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) and Education Department of
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (EDBMA). Percentage, mean, SD, t-test and ANOVA are used for statistical analysis in this study.

Results There is a signifi cant statistical difference between educational service area and school systems to students’ IQ. Students in urban and suburban area show higher IQ level than students in rural area. While schools where belong to OHEC have highest mean IQs score, OPEC, EDBMA and OBEC have lower mean IQs score respectively.

Conclusion Educational service area and school systems related to students’mean IQ level. However, there are also other related factors, and limitations to explain more on its relationship. Further study is suggested in order to promote the effi cient IQ program for Thai children.
