Focus and Scope

The Thai Food and Drug Journal (TFDJ) is an academic journal under the copyright of the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand. It accepts academic and research articles for publication. This journal is a science and technology journal to promote and share new knowledge and discoveries, innovations, and a wide range of knowledge related to health products and consumer protection of health products. It includes food, medicine, cosmetics, medical devices, hazardous substances used in the home, and drugs used medically.

Publication Frequency

TFDJ has approximately 6–10 articles per issue and publishes three issues every four months per year.

          Issue 1: January – April

          Issue 2: May – August

          Issue 3: September – December

Criteria for Article Evaluation

  1. All articles must not have been previously published or be currently under consideration by any other journals.
  2. It is a study that has a completion period of not more than five years from the date of submission of the matter for consideration.
  3. In the case that an author wishes to cancel or does not wish to publish, the author must notify the editorial team.
  4. The editorial team reserves the right to make changes and decide on the acceptance of matters for consideration, review, publication, or the order of publication according to priority as appropriate.

 

Peer Review Process   

The journal follows a double-blinded peer review process. It means that both reviewer and author identities are concealed throughout the review. Firstly, all submitted manuscripts will be initially evaluated by the editor for suitability for this journal. A plagiarism check will be conducted on all articles prior to review. Then, an invitation to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the article's quality was issued. The editor is responsible for a final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of all manuscripts; the editor's decision is final. The peer review process takes around one to three months to complete.

 

Open Access Policy

The Food and Drug Journal is open free online for researchers, academics, and students to access to provide a platform for broad knowledge exchange. It can be accessed at https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/fdajournal/index. In addition, readers are able to access and download the full text of the article and share it freely, but not for commercial use. Authors who published articles on TFDJ can hold copyrights and publishing rights without restrictions.

Journal History

The first initiation was in 1994, when the Thai Food and Drug Administration named it the FDA Journal. Then, it changed its name to Thai Food and Drug Journal in 2019. It is peer-reviewed and published as a hardcopy that began on Volume 1 Issue 1, then both a hardcopy and online on Volume 26, Issue 1–Volume 27, Issue 3. The journal is now only published online from Volume 28, Issue 1 (2021) onwards. It is indexed at the Thai Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI).
