Abstract

Surin Hospital is a tertiary care hospital with seven centers of excellence. The institution has continuously enhanced its clinical service capacity, particularly in nursing, by systematically developing quality management systems for nursing services. These efforts aim to achieve international standards in nursing practice. Quality assessment in hospitals serves as a strategic mechanism to elevate operational standards and sustain evidence-based outcomes.

The objective of this initiative was to synthesize knowledge, extract lessons learned, and describe the model of nursing quality management and nursing service quality assurance implemented by the Nursing Division of Surin Hospital. The ADDIE Model was applied as the operational framework, consisting of analysis of internal and external organizational contexts, design of evidence-based systems, development of tools and nursing practice guidelines, implementation through capacity-building activities for personnel, and evaluation for continuous improvement and lesson learned integration. The results indicated that a key success factor was the adoption of the ADDIE Model as a framework for nursing quality management. This led to the Nursing Division achieving 100% compliance in internal quality assessments, compared to the previous level of 60–70%. Furthermore, the hospital received the NQA Class Quality Award in 2024, reflecting nationally recognized standards in nursing service quality and establishing a strong foundation for pursuing the Thailand Quality Award (TQA) in the future.
