มะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวเฉียบพลัน (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia [ALL]) เป็นมะเร็งชนิดที่พบบ่อยที่สุดในเด็กวัยก่อนเรียน การศึกษาในครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษารายกรณีผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนที่ได้รับการวินิจฉัยโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวชนิดเฉียบพลันที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาเคมีบำบัดมีภาวะไข้จากเม็ดเลือดขาวต่ำ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการดำเนินของโรค และแนวทางการพยาบาลผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนที่ได้รับการวินิจฉัยโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวชนิดเฉียบพลันที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาเคมีบำบัดและมีภาวะไข้จากเม็ดเลือดขาวต่ำ โดยกรณีศึกษาเป็นเด็กวัยก่อนเรียน ได้รับการวินิจฉัยโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวชนิดเฉียบพลันได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาเคมีบำบัด มีภาวะแทรกซ้อนคือ มีภาวะไข้จากเม็ดเลือดขาวต่ำ (Febrile neutropenia) ผู้ป่วยได้รับการประเมินภาวะสุขภาพ การดูแลรักษา และการพยาบาลตามปัญหาของผู้ป่วย
ผลการศึกษารายกรณีศึกษาพบว่าผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนวินิจฉัยโรคโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวชนิดเฉียบพลันที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาเคมีบำบัดและมีภาวะไข้จากเม็ดเลือดขาวต่ำ มีปัญหาทางการพยาบาลที่ต้องได้รับการพยาบาลที่สำคัญประกอบด้วย การประเมินภาวะไข้จากเม็ดเลือดขาวต่ำ ประเมินระดับของความเสี่ยงต่อการติดเชื้อ การลด และการป้องกันการติดเชื้อ โดยพยาบาลที่เป็นบุคลากรที่มีความใกล้ชิดกับผู้ป่วยเด็กและครอบครัว
