การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อบรรยายการดูแลนักศึกษาพยาบาลขณะฝึกภาคปฏิบัติของพยาบาลประจำการ โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัย แบบปรากฏการณ์วิทยาการตีความ(Hermeneutic phenomenology) ตามแนวคิดของ Heidegger ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือ พยาบาลประจำการที่มีประสบการณ์ดูแลนักศึกษาพยาบาลขณะฝึกภาคปฏิบัติ และมีความยินดีในการเข้าร่วมการวิจัยจำนวน 15 คน การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และการบันทึกเทป ร่วมกับการบันทึกภาคสนามและการรวบรวมหลักฐานต่างๆ นำมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลแบบการตีความตามวิธีการของ Crist และ Tanner

ผลการวิจัยการดูแลนักศึกษาพยาบาลขณะขึ้นฝึกภาคปฏิบัติของพยาบาลประจำการ ประกอบด้วย 5ประเด็น ดังนี้

1. แนะนำสถานที่และขั้นตอนการทำงาน

2. สอนงานนักศึกษาหลายชั้นปี

3. นิเทศการพยาบาลและเตรียมพร้อมการฝึกปฏิบัติ

4. ประเมินการทำงานของนักศึกษา

5. สร้างความมั่นใจและศรัทธาในวิชาชีพ

6. ทบทวนการทำงานระหว่างอาจารย์กับพยาบาลพี่เลี้ยง

Abstract

This qualitative research was undertaken to describe the experiences of registered nurses who mentored nursing students during their clinical practicum. Heidegger’s hermeneutic phenomenology was used to conduct this research. Data were gathered from fifteen registered nurses who directly mentored nursing students and volunteered to participate in this research. In-depth interviews, field notes, and document reviews were used for data collection. The In-depth interviews were tape-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data analysis was guided by Crist and Tanner’s (2003) interpretive hermeneutic framework.

The registered nurses’ experiences in mentoring nursing students during their clinical practicum were revealed and presented in five major themes:

1. Orientating nursing unit and work flow.

2. Teaching nursing practicum for 2^nd to 4^th year nursing students

3. Supervising both nursing practice and preparation before caring for patients

4. Evaluating nursing students’ performance

5. Empowering nursing students to have self-confidence and faith in nursing profession

6. Reviewing job responsibilities between nursing instructors and preceptors
