The Effect of Project - Based Learning to Enhance Learning Outcomes According to the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework and Satisfaction with the Learning Management of Third - Year Nursing Students in the Nursing Innovation Course

Introduction: Currently, there are increasing expectations for nursing profession. Therefore, nursing education must be organized to prepare nursing students to be able to work in the future. This highlights the importance of developing teaching and learning management using project - based learning to enhance students' abilities.
Research objectives: To compare learning outcomes according to the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework before and after project - based learning, and to examine nursing students' satisfaction in the teaching and learning process.
Research methodology: This quasi - experimental research with a one - group pretest-posttest design evaluated the effects of project-based learning on 116 third - year nursing students enrolled in the nursing innovation course during the second semester of the academic year 2022 at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Chainat. Data were collected using a learning outcomes questionnaire based on the National Higher Education Qualifications Standards Framework and a questionnaire assessing satisfaction in the teaching and learning process. The content validity index was 1.00, and reliability indices were .82 and .85, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t - tests.
Results: Comparative learning outcomes according to the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework before and after utilizing project - based learning showed that post-study results were significantly higher than pre-study results (p < .01). Additionally, satisfaction in the teaching and learning process was at the highest level.
Conclusion: Project-based teaching and learning method had a positive impact on the development of learning, intellectual skills, interpersonal relations, responsibility, numerical analysis skills, communication, and the use of information technology.
Implications: The project - based learning method should be utilized in other nursing courses
to promote learning skills aligned with national standards for higher education qualifications in the future.
