Safety Behavior in Respiratory Tract Infection Prevention of Healthcare Workers during the Epidemic of COVID-19 at Potharam district, Ratchaburi province

Abstract

          The purpose of this research is 1) to study the education level, attitude, and safety behavior in respiratory tract infection prevention of healthcare workers 2) to compare the safety behavior in respiratory tract infection prevention on service classified by individual factors, and 3) to study in the relationship between education level and attitude of safety behavior in respiratory tract infection prevention and the actual practice of healthcare workers. The sample population is 114 of physicians, registered nurses, healthcare technical officers caring COVID-19 infected cases the working at Potharam hospital, Potharam District Health Office, Chet-Samian Hospital, in Potharam district. The study data was collected by using questionnaires consist of demographic data, education level, attitude, and safety conduct in respiratory tract infection prevention. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA was applied to analyze the collected data. The study results are


        1) 3% of the healthcare workers have archived more than 80% high Education level (= 12.87, SD = 1.41), attitude, and safety behavior in the Percentage of range to high level, respectively (= 1.57, SD = 0.29), (= 3.24, SD = 0.53)


        2) Gender, age, education level, work service length, position, and division did not have statistical significantly difference in safety behavior 


         3) The attitudes had positive statistical significantly correlated with safety behaviors in healthcare staff in Photharam (p-value < 0.01)


          The research results are used to promote and support all healthcare staff in order to raise awareness and attitude in safety practice to prevent the respiratory infection.
