Effect of caring multidrug-resistant bacteria in Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research is an action research aimed to develop guidelines for patient care and to reduce the rate of infection resistance. By using 2P-Safety Goals of the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute and apply the framework of the quality management process. Consists of plan-do-check-action. Compare operating results in the ward that has the highest incidence of drug-resistant infection 4 wards from a total of 13 wards conducted researches between October 2018 and September 2019.
The results showed that Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute: There are guidelines to take care of patients with "CPM caring MDR". When comparing the scores before and after using the guidelines for taking care of drug-resistant patients found that there are differences. When classifying issues it was found that the information on hand hygiene and staff education was better than before the experiment. In addition, hospital infection rate and the rate of drug-resistant infections tends to decrease
Suggestions if the hospital has operational guidelines including control measures and effective prevention of hospital infections. Personnel strictly abide by the guidelines. All infection-resistant patients comply with contact precaution & isolation using effective disinfectants. There are separate equipment for specific appliances. Food and drinking water are disposed into single-use containers and discarded. Increase the frequency of cleaning equipment and the environment including a system for assigning duties to care for specific drug resistant patients. By following the guidelines, you can reduce the rate of infection resistance and reducing infection rates in hospitals. In addition, service recipients are safe.
