Unit cost of acupuncture in post stroke

Abstract
Rehabilitation service is necessary for post stroke patients in order to recover as normal or near normal people. This study was to analyze unit cost of acupuncture in post stroke of Nong- chang Hospital, Nonthaburi Medical Center Hospital, Luangphorpern Hospital, Krathumbaen Hospital and Phanatnikhom Hospital. This study was designed as a prospective study between April 1 through May 31, 2021. The results showed that the unit cost of acupuncture in post stroke was 617.42 bath comprised the average unit cost of medication examination was 132.23 bath, the average unit cost of acupuncture in post stroke was 310.34 bath, and the average unit cost of electro-acupuncture in post stroke was 174.85 bath. When classifying the total costs in percentage, it was found that most of the cost of 54.21% was the labor cost, 34.22% was the material cost and 11.57% was the capital cost. These data could be applied for financial management, efficiency improvement and service model development and for decision makers in policy implication and effective resources management. It would be useful for studying costs of service provision of the National Health Security System in Thailand.
