Predictors factors of preparation before entering the aging society of the pre-elderly age group In Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Abstract
This descriptive research aimed to study (1) the level of aging preparation; (2) factors related to aging preparation; and (3) predictive factors of aging preparation. The sample consisted of 261 pre-elderly individuals. The research instruments composed of (1) a personal information questionnaire; (2) the aging expectations questionnaire, yielding a CVI of .89 and a reliability of .94; and (3) the preparation for aging questionnaire, yielding a CVI of .86 and a reliability of .96. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The results revealed that the sample had a high level of aging preparation (Mean 4.01, SD 1.07). Personal factors were significantly correlated with aging preparation (p < .05). Age and aging expectations showed a positive correlation with aging preparation (r .172 and .530, respectively. Age, underlying health conditions, the income to expense ratio, and aging expectations could collectively predict aging preparation (R² .326, p < .05). In addition, aging expectations were the most dominant variable (β .530), while the income to expense ratio was the least leading variable (β -.227). Therefore, promoting financial preparation should focus on reducing debt and encouraging saving to ensure a good quality of life in the elderly.
