Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this quasi experimental research  was to study the effects of the health promotion program with LINE application on the self-management behaviors of epilepsy patients.  The sample consisted of  30 epilepsy patients,  who received the outpatient services at Pathum Thani Hospital. The research instrument consisted of the health promotion program with the LINE application, and the self-management behavior questionnaire of epilepsy patients. The content validity index of the program and questionnaires were 1.00, and the questionnaire reliability was .87. Data were analyes using dependent t-test (one group pre-post test).

The results showed that the self-management behaviors mean scores of epilepsy patients after receiving the program were higher than before receiving the program (Mean 3.71 and Mean 2.61, respectively), and were statistically significant different (t -7.82, p < .001). Therefore, the developed LINE application-based health promotion program can promote knowledge about epilepsy and self-management behaviors, thereby the patients were aware of the health promotion benefits, barriers to practice, their own abilities, and understand how to manage themselves for good health in the future.
