Effects of promoting design thinking for designing nursing programs on the nursing design thinking skills of nursing students at Pathum Thani University

This one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental aimed to study the effects of promoting design thinking program of the nursing students, Pathumthani University. The sample group consisted of 44 second-year nursing students, academic year 2023. The research instrument was a promoting design thinking for designing nursing programs and comprised of lectures, video clips, and service design for service recipients based on simulation situations. Data collection tool was a nursing design thinking skills questionnaire. The content validity of the tool was greater than 0.67 for all items and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.91. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test.


                The results showed that the mean score of nursing design thinking skills of the nursing students after receiving the program to promote design thinking for designing nursing programs was significantly higher than before receiving the program at the.05 level. The results of this study show that promoting design thinking for designing nursing programs can be used to promote students' creativity and innovation skills and apply the acquired knowledge to delivering health services to the target service recipients appropriately and respond to their problems, needs, and expectations.
