Abstract


This research and development aimed to develop and study the effects of a nursing model for hip fracture patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. The samples were  30 professional nurses working in the pilot operating room with 20 patients. Data were collected between November 2022 - January 2023. The research tools consisted of 1) Group Discussion Interview Form 2) a nursing model for hip fracture patients undergoing hip replacement surgery; 3) a nursing practice assessment form for hip fracture patients undergoing hip replacement surgery; and 4) Evaluate the satisfaction of registered nurses. Hip fracture patients 5 experts' content validity indices were .91 and .92, respectively, Cronbach's alpha coefficients were .89 and .94, respectively. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired t-test.


The results showed that the nursing pattern for hip fracture patients undergoing hip replacement surgery consists of 1) There is a set of roles and responsibilities of nurses 2) There is a clear policy 3) There is a working team 4) There is a mentoring system 5) There is a model for nursing patients 6) There is a data recording system 7) There is a supervision and follow-up system and continuously evaluate.  After developing a nursing model for hip fracture patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. The mean scores of satisfactions and nursing practice were higher than before the pattern development. Statistically significant (p=.000)
