Abstract
The objective of this research was to study the results of development the clinical nursing practice guidelines on assessing neutropenia risks of leukemia and lymphoma patients received chemotherapy regarding its application and satisfaction. A purposive sampling technique was employed to recruits 30 registered nurses who directly take care of the patients received chemotherapy. The research instruments consisted of the nursing practice guidelines of the patients received chemotherapy acquiring febrile neutropenia and questionnaires on general information, the application of the nursing guideline, and satisfaction of using the nursing guideline. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The results showed that the majority of registered nurses 76.70 per cent, had working experience between 1-10 years, 63.30 percent had experience in caring of cancer patients received chemotherapy between 1-5 years and 73.30 per cent had not yet participated in training on caring of cancer patients treated with chemotherapy. The assessment regarding implementation of the nursing practice guideline revealed that the practical feasibility of applying this guideline in the organization was at a high level (50 per cent), easy and convenient of using this guideline was at the moderate level (76.70 per cent) and the effectiveness of this guideline application was at a high level (46.70 per cent). The overall satisfaction score of registered nurses on the application of this guideline was at a high level (Mean 4.06, SD 0.53).
