Resilience Quotient Enhancement: A Case Study of Cancer Patients and Relatives of Cancer Patients

Abstract
Patients and their relatives who have been diagnosed with cancer as emotional and mental suffering when confronted with difficult situations, leads to decreases their quality of life. Nursing care based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy group counselling on Resilience Quotient Enhancement will enable patients and their relatives overcome from major negative life events and bounce back in a positive way. Resilience Quotient Enhancement includes “I have”, “I am”, and “I can” with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy group counselling process. The result of implementing this care model showed the case study had decreased level of pain distress and increased level of mental health power. A nurse who applies this care model should be expertise in consulting and sensitive to changes and to the variety of context patients and their relatives encounter. The consultants make achieving goal easier, deploying their skills to improve their ability to be resilient quotient.
