Effect of using Role-play simulation on self confidence, communication skills and practice skills in Nursing home visits of Nursing student

Abstract

This research was a quasi-experimental research with 1 pre-experimental group. The objective of this study was to study the effect of role play simulation on confidence. communication skills and nursing practice skills for nursing students' home visits. sample group is a third year nursing student enrolled in community health nursing The first semester of the academic year 2021, 50 students were purposive sampling, divided into 5 groups of 10 students each. 2) Communication Skills Assessment Form 3) Home Visiting Nursing Skills Assessment Form Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired sample t-test.


The results showed that the effect of Role play simulation on the confidence in nursing home visits among nursing students after the trial was higher than before (mean=3.88, SD=0.23 and mean=3.68, SD=0.26) when Comparing the results before and after the experiment, it was found that the mean scores of nursing students' confidence in nursing home visits were significantly different at the .05 level (t=-6.07). The nursing students' home visits after role play simulation were at the highest level. and the scores of nursing home visit practice skills of nursing students after weaving, most of them practiced proficiently. Based on the results of this study, the use of role play simulations can help increase confidence in performing home visits. It can promote communication skills in home visits and promote nursing practice skills in home visits of nursing students.
