Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this cross-sectional descriptive study are to identity and test a causal relationship model of factors influencing the performance of registered nurses under Department of Medical Services. The systematic review showed that there were 4 factors affecting including work environmental, work life balance, job satisfaction and job performance. The 330 registered nurses working at the 7 hospitals and institutes under the Department of Medical Services were the sample group. The sampling technique was the simple random sampling. The questionnaires included work environmental, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and job performance.
The finding of this study shows that job environment had directed effects on job performance, work-life balance, and job satisfaction at a 0.01 level significance with path coefficients of 0.30, 0.60, and 0.54 respectively. The job environment had indirected effects on job performance through work-life balance and job satisfaction at a 0.01 level significance with path coefficients of 0.19, and 0.29 respectively. Work-life balance had a positive relationship on job performance, however there was not a direct effect on job performance. Conversely, work-life balance had an indirected effect on job performance through job satisfaction at a 0.01 level significance with a path coefficient of 0.13. In addition, work-life balance had a direct effect on job satisfaction at a 0.01 level significance with a path coefficient of 0.31. Job satisfaction had a directed effect on job performance at a 0.01 level significance with path coefficients of 0.40.The causal relationship variables accounted for 43.0 percent of variance in the job performance variable.
