Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study and develop an anesthesia nursing service model for one day surgery aligned with the policy of the Ministry of Public Health. The study was carried out on January 30th, 2019 to April 30th, 2020. The development of an anesthesia nursing service model for one day surgery consisted of five steps using Delphi technique and mixed method of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. The anesthesia nursing service model for one day surgery was tryout during June 2019 to April 2020. A quasi–experimental design was employed to examine the results of the tryout. A sample of 68 and 48 patients was assigned to the control and experimental groups respectively. In addition, the opinions of 78 nurse anesthetists using the anesthesia nursing service model were collected via a questionnaire, approved by 7 experts (CVI .99).
The results showed that the anesthesia nursing service model for one day surgery consisted of 29 regulations that most of the nurse anesthetists approved “are all practical”. The trial results indicated positive events and outcomes among the patients. The percentage of the patients qualifying to receive anesthesia on the day of surgery was increased. In addition, the percentage of the patients who were free from anesthesia complications during and after surgery was increased. Finally, all the patients undergoing surgery could go home within 24 hours.
