Relationship Between Transformational Leadership of Head Nurses, Constructive Organization Culture and Learning Organization as Perceived by Registered Nurses, Hospital under the Jurisdiction of the Department of Medical Service, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

The purposes of this descriptive correlational research were to study transformational leadership of head nurses, constructive organization culture, and learning organization, including examine the relationship between transformational leadership of head nurses, constructive organization culture and learning organization perceived by registered nurses, working in the hospital under the jurisdiction of the department of medical services, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. A population of 82 nurses was recruited. The research tools consisted of questionnaires on: 1) transformational leadership of head nurses, 2) constructive organization culture, and 3) learning organization. The content validity of questionnaires was assessed by 5 experts. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were used to measure reliability of questionnaires, yielding values of .92, .94 and .97 respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.


                                     The findings revealed that transformational leadership of head nurses, constructive organization culture, and learning organization perceived by registered nurses were quite high. In addition, transformational leadership of head nurses and constructive organization culture had positive relationship with learning organization at a moderate level, yielding statistical significant of < .01 (r = .62 and .59 respectively).
