Abstract

Papanicolaou smear (Pap smear) is one of screening method for detecting abnormal cervical cytology before progression to cervical cancer. Once abnormal pap smear was detected, the further investigations for definite diagnosis and prompt management should be performed. Role of nurses in caring women with abnormal pap smear include secondary prevention of disease and arrange proper caring and best management, thereby enhancing good quality of life for those women and their families.
