This article aims to encourage professional nurses and administration nurses to give importance to, and to be aware of using proactive communication with patients. Since the nurses are the majority of personnel in health organizations, caring for patients, being close to them, there are more chances of having a conflictual communication with them. The impacts of a communication conflict will not only affect the safety of patients, but also the nurses, and the entire organizations. The causes of conflict are divided into 3 main topics: 1) personal factors of patients and nurses, 2) environmental factors in the hospital, and 3) management within the organization. To resolve the impacts of communication conflicts, it is important to develop proactive communication skills among the nurses, and also the management of organizations, as well as to setting up better environment in hospitals.
