Abstract

This descriptive study aims to investigate the unit cost per student, the break-even point and, the unit cost per full-time equivalent students (FTES) on Bachelor of nursing science students and Practical nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing Surin. Moreover, the unit cost of academic services was also identified. The College’s perspectives were analyzed with a step-down method for cost allocation. Labor, material, and capital costs were retrieved from secondary sources in both annual government statements of expenditure and revenue for fiscal years 2020. Data were analyzed using Microsoft excel which determine the amounts and percentages.

 The results show that the total cost of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Chainat was 57,675,865.88 Baht. The proportion on labor cost, material cost and capital cost were 69.89, 17.91 and 12.20, respectively.  The unit cost and full-time equivalent (FTES) cost for training a Bachelor of nursing science student were 145,977.47 Bath/FTES and 133,428.42 Bath/person, respectively. In addition, the break-event point presented at 318 per year. Furthermore, the total cost of online academic services presented at 8,434,972.93 Baht with the average cost was 8,221.22 Bath/person.

Based on the result, the college administrator should concern on the empirical unit cost data in order to make an efficient management. Moreover, the academic cost of instructor should consider based on competency developing of the organization.
